Minitab Express Free Trial Mac

If you are interested in running your desktop product on a Mac, you can install the Windows operating system on your Mac computer using desktop virtualization software.

Note

The below solution requires that you follow the system requirements for your desktop product: Minitab, Minitab Engage, Companion by Minitab, or Workspace.

Desktop virtualization software

Desktop virtualization software allows you to install and use Windows on your Intel-based Mac without requiring a reboot. This allows you to be in macOS and Windows at the same time. Mac virtualization software is available from industry leaders such as VMware (VMware Fusion), Parallels (Parallels Desktop for Mac), and Oracle (VirtualBox).

Note

Minitab products have not been rigorously tested in desktop virtualization software, and assistance from Minitab Technical Support is limited. Before purchasing a Minitab product, it is strongly recommended that you download the trial version of the software to test in your environment.

Using the trial software on a virtual computer

To use the trial version in a virtual environment, you must contact Minitab Technical Support for a 30-day product key to activate the software.

Tips for using your desktop software on your Mac

When using Windows on your Mac, it is best to shut down Windows when you are finished using your software. Closing the lid of your notebook computer may cause Windows to hibernate or suspend, which can cause an error about a tampered license. Try shutting down Windows and rebooting the virtual computer. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact Minitab Technical Support.

New Install of Minitab 20 for Windows

1. Download the Minitab 2021-22 license file. You can find that on your online order confirmation page, under the link. For instructions on getting to your online order confirmation page, please our How To Look Up Your Software License Codes article. The file name will be minitab.lic. Be sure to the file and remember the location where you saved it. It will most likely be in your default download location. (Do not try to open the license file; it will be unreadable.)
   Some customers received a license file that had been renamed accidentally. If your file has any other name, please rename it to minitab.lic.
2. Download the Minitab 20.3.0 installer archive from the CU Software Minitab page. The file name will be Minitab20-3-0-Win64.zip.
3. Right-click the installer archive and select . You will be prompted to pick a location to save the files. We recommend that you choose the Desktop, then create a new folder called 'Minitab' on the Desktop.
4. In that folder you will find minitab20.3.0.setup.x64.exe. Double-click that file.
5. Accept the default installer options until asked How do you want to activate the software?
6. On the Select a licensing method window, click Sign In, then click Next.
7. On the Destination folder window, click Next.
   Do NOT change the default installation location.
8. On the Ready to install Minitab window, click Install.
   Let the installer run to completion. You will see 'Completed Minitab Setup.'
9. Click Finish. You will find a new Minitab Statistical Software shortcut on your desktop.
10. Double-click the new shortcut.
11. On the Sign In to License Portal window, click Change License Type at the bottom of the window.
    Do NOT enter your email address.
12. On the License Type window, select License File, then click Browse.
13. Browse to the license file location you used in step 1. The file is named minitab.lic.
14. Select the file, then click Open.
15. Click Activate.

Minitab will remain open and is ready to use.

Set Up Minitab Web

CIT is working with the manufacturer to integrate Cornell's Single Sign-On service with Minitab, which is necessary to use Minitab Web through educational licensing. Once that is set up, look here for instructions to sign in to Minitab Web for the first time via your web browser.

Update License File for Minitab 20 (Windows Only)

If you were running Minitab 20 for Windows, and your license has expired, use the procedure immediately below.

If you were running a version of Minitab prior to version 20 for Windows, and your license has expired, or if you are running Minitab Express, you need to update to Minitab 20. Please follow the instructions for New Install of Minitab 20 for Windows, above.

1. Download the Minitab 2021-22 license file. You can find that on your online order confirmation page, under the link. 6. Click . Minitab should finish launching and will now run normally.

Not Trial Versions. You cannot update a trial version of a Minitab product to our campus license version. If you had been using the free thirty-day trial version of Minitab or Minitab Express, you will need to uninstall the trial version and install the version from our Minitab Licensing page. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Install Minitab in Network/Concurrent User Configuration

Minitab Free Trial Mac Cleaner

Note: Network/concurrent user configuration requires purchase of at least two Minitab licenses. This configuration is not available to holders of Minitab student licenses. It is also not available for Minitab Express.

1. Send us a request via email that you want to install Minitab under a network license. Please include the following information:

   • Your NetID
   • Your phone number
   • any other details of your request
3. When we receive your message, we will authorize you with the manufacturer as a valid Minitab network license holder and will create a Minitab user account for you. We will let you know via e-mail when the authorization is complete. Please allow up to four business days.
4. After you receive your authorization confirmation, log in to the Minitab Customer Center.
5. On the Minitab Customer Center page, click .
6. Sign in to your Minitab account.
7. • If you have already set a Minitab password, please use it.
   • If you have not previously set a Minitab password, click the link. Please do not register for a new account; it will not be authorized for network access.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a license file for a specific order. You will need the product license information that we sent you with your network license authorization message. If you no longer have this information, please contact us and we will re-send it to you.
9. You should now have a Minitab network license. Enjoy!
